Getting there and around
BY AIR
You can get into Kuala Lumpur through the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). There is also an old airport at Subang that is now mostly handling domestic rather that international flights. For domestic trips, you can use the Malaysian Airline service which provides non-stop flights to various destinations in Malaysia.
BY ROAD
Bus
Bus departs from Puduraya – the main bus station, for destinations throughout Malaysia, including Singapore and Thailand. But if you plan to visit further areas like Kuala Lipis and Jerantut, you’ll have to catch a bus from the Pakeling bus station.
Train
For traveling within Malaysia or further areas, you can choose the KTM national railway system. There are daily departures for Butterworth, Wakaf Bahru (Korta Bharu), Johor Bahru and Singapore, while trains also link with Shah Alam and Kelang in Selangor and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan. You can buy the ticket either at station or at the KTM ticket booth
Taxi
Please go to Puduraya bus station to catch the long distance taxi. It is better for you to arrive at the taxi rank early in the morning, should you plan to share a taxi with the aim of cutting down costs.
Rent vehicles
It will be easier to opt for public transport rather than driving car to go around the city. But, you can rent a vehicle to get into further afield or coastal areas. And if you are good enough in riding motorbike, you may rent motorbike, as it generally reasonably priced.
