Macau Destination Guides > Country Overview

Macau is a small metropolis comprises a peninsula and two islands in the Pearl River delta of Guangdong Province. The general expression Macau gives to the travelers is a beautiful city with clean streets, gardens and picturesque hilly landscapes with sunshine, clear air, green lands and all sorts of delicious food all contribute to its many attractions. Travelers can not also miss to recognize the blend of Oriental and Western culture, many cultural and historical places of interest and all sorts of old buildings that are either European baroque or traditional Chinese in style spread all over the peninsula.

Dubbed  as 'Oriental Las Vegas', the casinos of Macau are surely one of the best attractions in the peninsula. Most casinos are along the waterfront on the southern side of Macau peninsula and surprisingly, tourists do not find the kind of razzmatazz in Macau's casinos as elsewhere; by contrast you can feel the expectations of gamblers from their polite manners and the peaceful atmosphere.
