Indonesia Destination Guides > Health Indonesia : Jakarta : Health
Health Jakarta has come a long way in recent years in terms of hygienic but a few points are worth noting. Stick to bottled water: don’t drink from a tap even in the most luxurious resorts.
Use mosquito repellent and cover up at night: while malaria is not considered a problem in Jakarta, prophylactics are advised when traveling to eastern Indonesia.
Eat at established hotels and restaurants: traditional food stalls and hawker carts may look inciting, but unless your system is adjusted to the vagaries of local food preparation, they are best avoided. |
