Geography The Jambi Province covers an area of 44,800 sq. kilometers and borders Riau in the north, South Sumatra in the south, West Sumatra in the west, and Berhala Strait in the east.
The Rivers Batang Hari, Batang Merangin, Batang Tabir, Batang Tebo, Batang Tembesi, Batang Bungo, Berbak, Pengabuan, Air Hitam, Mendahara, Dendang and Batang Asai share the province with the mountain ranges of Kerinci Raya, Sumbing, Masurai Tujuh and Patahsembilan.
The big lakes in Jambi include Kerinci and Dipocompat (Besar). The humidity is 83% and the rainfall varies between 1,940 and 2,941 mm per year. |
